Upon your arrival in the cosmopolitan city of Vietnam, still called “Saigon” by many locals, you will be warmly greeted by your private tour guide and driver at Tan Son Nhat International Airport for the transfer to the city center for hotel check-in (Kindly be advised that the standard check-in time is at 14.00 so the early check-in is subject to the hotel availability and attracts a surcharge).

Day 2 of your Best Vietnam Itinerary 2 Weeks, you will visit Cu Chi Tunnels and Ho Chi Minh City Tour. It will be a full day for you to discover Cu Chi Tunnels and Ho Chi Minh City.

Today, you will explore some of Saigon’s highlights and Cu Chi Tunnels outside of the city. Start your morning with the War Remnants Museum, then venture to Reunification Palace to learn more about Vietnam’s recent history. Next, we proceed to visit the nearby neo-Romanesque Notre Dame Cathedral and the City's Centre Post Office before moving to the ornate Opera Theatre and the City Hall. Conclude your morning with a visit to Ben Thanh Market, where a vast array of goods and handicrafts is displayed by local vendors, appealing to every taste.

Enjoy lunch at the local restaurant, then, you depart from the city center and head to the countryside for an afternoon excursion, towards the famous Cu Chi Tunnels which is used as the underground system to protect the Viet Cong against American air raids during the Vietnam War. Those who are interested in discovering this underground labyrinth of passageways are invited to crawl through selections of the tunnels, which also gives the chance to better understand what life was like for the Vietnamese soldiers during the time when locals struggle for independence. Cruise amongst local barges full of food, fruits as well as vegetables. After breakfast at your hotel, spend your free time in the city as you please. You may stroll through the nearby areas, do the shopping or simply relax in the hotel. After that, you will be picked up to transfer to the airport for taking the flight to Da Nang. 

Upon reaching Da Nang Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your private tour guide and driver for the transfer to the ancient town of Hoi An. Check in your hotel, then, enjoy the remainder of the day at your leisure. Stay overnight in Hoi An. 

Day 5 of your Best Vietnam Itinerary 2 weeks, you will enjoy the exciting time experiencing how to be a farmer in Vietnam.

After breakfast, your private tour guide will be waiting at your hotel’s lobby with your bicycle. The 30-minute cycling through the town’ outskirt brings you to the local Tra Que Farming Village, passing the lush rice paddy fields as well as the lively local life. Cycle around the vegetable garden, then, you may join one of the farmers and get a feel of what it is like to work the farming, including preparing the land and fertilizing it with seaweed from the local lake. You may participate in the farming activities such as raking the ground, sowing, watering, and picking vegetables, and so on with the local farmers’ help.

Get back to your hotel for staying overnight.

After breakfast, spend your free day to explore Hoi An as you please. It is an opportunity for you to get back your energy after 5 days in your Best Vietnam Itinerary 2 weeks Tour. You may stroll around the old quarter to see the different colors of Hoi An on foot. On the way, you may stop at some local shops selling beautiful silks and colorful lanterns to purchase them as souvenirs for your friends and family. If not, you may hire a bicycle for a ride to one of the nearby beaches such as Cua Dai or An Bang for relaxing at the beach or going for a refreshing swim. In the early afternoon, you will be picked up by your private tour guide and driver for the drive to Hue, passing the 500m-high Hai Van Pass where you will have a chance to see an overview about the coast of Vietnam.    

Upon your arrival in Hue, do the check-in formalities and spend your free time in the ancient capital of Vietnam. Stay overnight in Hue. 

After breakfast, your tour guide will pick you up from your hotel for the transfer to the wharf. Begin your full day Hue City Tour by floating down the peaceful Perfume River by Dragon Boat, make a quick stop en-route, get off the boat to explore the iconic seven-storey Thien Mu Pagoda, a special cultural - historical site which still preserves a legendary tale about the Heaven Fairy Lady since Nguyen Dynasty. Leaving the renowned pagoda, we proceed to visit the Imperial City of Hue, one of Vietnam’s Seven UNESCO World Heritage Site, including The Citadel and The Forbidden City. While there, you will stroll around and take a look into the special feudal relics which bear immense architectural and cultural values. 

Next, enjoy the vegetarian lunch which will be cooked by the nuns at a Buddhist monastery, giving you a great opportunity to interact with them and learn more about Buddhism. 

After lunch, we continue on to the city’s outskirts to visit the final resting places of the Emperor under Nguyen Dynasty, Minh Mang Tomb and Khai Dinh Tomb which allows you to learn more about Nguyen Kings, as well as enjoy the spectacular landscape.

After a refreshing night’s sleep, you will do the full day city tour of Hanoi, commencing with Ho Chi Minh Complex which includes Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (closed on Monday and Friday, every afternoons and from late September until December), the Presidential Palace, the Ho Chi Minh's House on Stilts and the One Pillar Pagoda which is one of the longest standing cultural relics in Hanoi. While at Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum which is the resting place of President Ho Chi Minh, you have the chance to see a long queue of the visitors all around Vietnam coming to express their admiration and gratitude towards the common father of Vietnamese. 

Your next stop will be the thousand-year old Temple of Literature (Van Mieu- Quoc Tu Giam) which was the site of Vietnam’s first university. The picturesque temple nowadays is used as a holy place for students to visit before their examinations or before graduating.   

Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, then, we continue to visit one of the famous museums in Hanoi such as Hoa Lo Prison, widely known as "Hanoi Hilton" – a nickname given by US pilots during the war or the Ethnology Museum to see the real exhibitions displayed.    

Hop in your car to drive to Hanoi Old Quarter, then get off your car to stroll through the different streets to stop at some shops and taste street foods of the most interesting of the 36 streets.

Have breakfast before transferring to a day boat to start off your full day of activities. Get off your day cruise to move to Cat Ba Island where you will join a trekking and cycling tour to Viet Hai Village.  

Upon return to the day boat, enjoy the delicious seafood lunch before continuing your today’s journey to different parts of Lan Ha Bay. Afterwards, return to your junk for the dinner before spending the second night onboard your well-equipped cabin. 

Wake up early to practice morning tai chi session on the top deck or hunt beautiful photos whilst the sun rises over the bay before having breakfast in the restaurant.
