Ban Gioc Waterfall – Ba Be Lake Group Tour

07.30 – 08.00 AM: Be ready at your hotel in the Old Quarter, our guide and driver will pick you up for the transfer to Lang Son. 3-hour drive to the Chinese border direction will lead you to Lang Son. Stop at Chi Lang Pass, our guide will tell you more about the history of Vietnam with this area. Chi Lang was the place where we defeated the invader in the 10th century with an interesting story. 

You will have about 1 hour for walking around and exploring the area around the “Quy Mon Quan” which means “ The Gate of Monster”. It was named for many invasion forces in history and was defeated at that place by Vietnamese. 

You will have lunch in a local restaurant and continue the trip into the past. You will visit Mother Temple and Dong Khe. Dong Khe was an important historical site where the Battle of Dong Ke was fought during the First Indochina Wars and it was very first battle of Indochina Wars in 1950.

After that, you will check in our homestay in a local house of Nung family. Enjoy the dinner with the local people and stay overnight in our homestay.

The second day will be the highlight of the Ba Be Lake Ban Gioc Waterfall Group Tour.

Enjoy breakfast in your homestay, you will check out and depart to Trung Khanh – The border area between Vietnam and China. You will have chance to meet and interact with Nung People- The local people there living in Phuoc Sen Village which is famous for traditional blacksmithing. You will see the farming tools which are made there. They are an integral part of their farming life.  

We will continue to visit the most highlighted destination today – Ban Gioc Waterfall which is split half and half between Vietnam and China nowadays. That will be an excellent opportunity for the fantastic photos of the famous Waterfall of Ban Gioc. 

After visiting Ban Gioc Waterfall, you will drive to Nguom Ngao Cave – A 2,144-meter cave underground with incredible stalagmites and stalactites. You will take your time walking through this beautiful cave and see many beautiful and amazing shapes of the stalagmites and stalactites. These stalagmites and stalactites are named after their shapes. They can be Bayan tree, Lotus tree… etc.

After visiting Nguom Ngao Cave, you will return to Cao Bang Town and head to Ba Be Lake through the Snake Pass. You will stay overnight in the traditional house on stilt of Tay People. You will have chance to interact with them and learn more about their life and culture. You may join in the cooking with them to know more about their cuisines. We will enjoy the delicious and authentic dinner there with the host.

Stay overnight in the local homestay.

Today will be the last day of the group tour to Ba Ba Lake and Ban Gioc Waterfall.

You will have breakfast at your homestay and take the boat tour to Ba Be Lake. You can spend time on the boat for relaxing and enjoying the beautiful view of the lake and around or you can go swimming in the cool water and refresh yourself.

From the lake, there are beautiful views  of the karst formation around and the national forest. Our boat will continue along the Nang River giving you a chance to visit the Puong Grotto where you will be amazed by the stalactites and stalagmites created through river erosion as well as the thousands bats colony that lives here.

You will take the transfer – 230 km back to Hanoi with a stop at a tea plantation. Have lunch on the way.

You will arrive Hanoi at around 17.00 PM. Say goodbye to your guide and driver and we hope you have had a great time with us. Your group tour to Ban Gioc Waterfall and Ba Ba Lake ends. Hope to see you soon.
