Cam Ranh International Airport is the main airport of Nha Trang, the coastal capital of Khanh Hoa Province in the centre of southern Vietnam. The actual airport is located about 30km south of the city in a town called Cam Ranh. Having a better capability to deal with passengers than Nha Trang’s own airport, Cam Ranh International Airport was opened in 2009 to serve the city of Nha Trang.
To transfer from Cam Ranh International Airport to Nha Trang City Centre will take about 45 minutes. The drive heads through wonderful scenery of wide-open farmland with a backdrop of mountains and the occasional view of the East Vietnam Sea.

Visas
There is a strict procedure to crossing through Vietnamese airports. Before proceeding through customs, you must have either a ‘letter of introduction’, which is granted beforehand by a travel company, or you must have a Vietnamese visa already stamped into your passport, which is a service that all foreign Vietnamese embassies do. If doing the former, you can contact Incredible Asia Journeys for a cheap letter of introduction, which will come with an empty application form that you must fill out.
Once you have located the station named ‘Visa on Arrival’, you can hand in your letter of introduction, completed application form and two passport-sized photos (these photos do not have to match the photo in your passport). Following this, you will collect your processed visa, pay the visa stamp fee and continue through immigration check.
