Itinerary

Activities: Seeing the frenetic way of life from a boat at Cai Be floating market before enjoying lunch with a local family. Afterwards, we climb into another boat and watch the sun descend in the sky.

After pick-up at your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City at around 08.00 am, we will drive south into the Mekong Delta, where your Cai Be – Tan Phong Island Full Day tour will begin. A private boat will meet us at the pier of Cai Be and take us out onto the open water.

We will get our first sights of the mountains of produce piled high by vendors. We cruise past coconut groves and fish farms as we explore the busy waterway, heading ashore to find small workshops that make some of the speciality foods of the Mekong, including coconut candy and rice popcorn.

We will stroll through a local village with its beautiful and exotic fruit orchards. Mr Kiet and his family will welcome us into their stunning house, lived-in for four generations and feature some of the Mandarin architecture available to see around this region.

We will have a delicious home-cooked meal before strolling through some of the splendid fruit orchards with their longan, rambutan and coconut trees.

After waving goodbye to the family, we head to Tan Phong Island. Here we can take a local rowboat around the islands’ attractive backwaters and on the river. The sun descends to the horizon as we make the trip back to Ho Chi Minh City, where the Cai Be – Tan Phong Island Full Day tour will finish.
