Itinerary

Activities: Do trekking to Y Linh Ho, Lao Chai & Ta Van Village and stay overnight in homestay in Ta Van

Morning: Starting in Sapa Town, we trek the 6km along the Muong Hoa Valley with its stunning views to one of the homes of the Black H’mong tribe, Y Linh Ho Village.

3km further on down the road, we head to Lao Chai Village, another bastion of Black H’mong culture. A rope bridge over the river connects the village with the trekking path, providing a traditional feel along with the bamboo stilt houses of about 100 families that dot the hillside village.

Afternoon: We will stop for a picnic lunch hosted by a very friendly Black H’mong family, sampling their everyday foods in the beautiful surrounds of Lao Chai.

Continuing our hike to Ta Van Village, we skirt the sides of more undulating rice paddies in the Muong Hoa Valley, gazing across the vast expanse as flecks of mist drift in front of the mountains.

We will reach the rural village of Ta Van, where life remains unchanged in the face of tourism. We will relax here in the evening, playing with the village kids and helping our Giay minority host to cook our gorgeous dinner at our traditional homestay. Gaze up at a sky full of stars as the night rolls in and the evening activities of Ta Van wind down for another day.

Trekking distance: 12km

 Meals:  Lunch, Dinner

Activities: Continue trekking to Giang Ta Chai Village, the home of the Red Dao tribe and visit Su Pan Village before night train back to Hanoi

Morning: Wake up to the fresh air and a delicious breakfast in Ta Van before we wave goodbye to our friendly Giay hosts and begin our trek.

We start along rocky paths, gazing down at the ripples of rice paddies that descend to the valley floor like lava beneath our feet. 8km away lies Giang Ta Chai Village, the home of the Red Dao tribe, distinguishable from other tribes by the red bandanas they wear on their heads.

Through jungle and up to the higher stretches of Sapa, we stop for a picnic lunch, waving to the local farmers of different ethnic groups who pass by.

Afternoon: Su Pan Village is our final stop, a tiny commune of H’mong villagers living high above the valley floor. We can speak to some of the local people here about life in Sapa and how tourism has transformed the region in which they live.

We will head back to Sapa by Jeep, 10km away along the main road. We reach Sapa at about 15.30 or 16.00, giving you time in the late afternoon to relax back in the hill region’s activity hub or getting the bus to Lao Cai train station for your night train back to Hanoi.

Your Sapa Trekking 2 Days tour will finish here. Many thanks for joining Incredible Asia Journeys for this magical trek across Sapa, we very much hope to see you again soon.
