Activities: Explore Cu Chi Tunnels & Ho Chi Minh City’s other main attractions for the whole day.

Today we will start the Saigon and Phu Quoc 7 Day Holiday by visiting the Cu Chi tunnels

After breakfast, we set out to the northwest of Ho Chi Minh City to see the Cu Chi Tunnels. A two-hour drive brings us to the 250 km long, web-like, underground tunnel system which was like a secret city supporting the Viet Cong during the war. Before entering, we will watch a short presentation video showing the construction process of the Cu Chi Tunnels. Spend the next hour exploring the underground tunnel system.

Those who are keen on it can try to fire an AK-47 or an MK16 rifle at a nearby firing range (Fee is separate).

Have lunch at a local restaurant near Cu Chi.

This afternoon, you will embark on a city tour of HCMC (Saigon) including the War Remnants Museum, where a comprehensive collection of the machinery, weapons, photographs and documents of the Vietnam wars is displayed. Visit the History Museum (closed on Mondays) or the Reunification Palace to view the relics of the city's tumultuous past. Walk around the city to see the Old Saigon Post Office and the Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral, two typical examples of French colonial architecture in Saigon. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.

 Meals:  Breakfast, Lunch

War Remnants Museum Ho Chi Minh

Activities: Explore Cai Be floating market & take a boat trip in Vinh Long to know more about the lively daily activities of the local people. Then transfer back to Saigon to stay overnight.

After breakfast, your guide and driver will pick you up for the drive to Cai Be. Board your boat to begin the tour of colorful Cai Be floating market where you will see the unique marketing method whereby wholesalers hang samples of their goods from tall wooden poles so they do not have to cry out what they are selling over the vastness of the river & the noise of boat engines. Follow with a visit to some local workshops that produce rice paste, coconut candy, popped rice & popcorn (optional).

On top of that, visit the very interesting local handicraft village where you will have the opportunity to see how some special products such as rice-net for spring-rolls, fish sauce & soya sauce is made.

Continue by row boat along the river and then turn onto a natural water-palm scissors canal which becomes smaller and smaller as you go further into the countryside to enjoy the peace. While there, you will see traditional houses made of wood and palm tree leaves, and have a chance to meet local farmers and observe the traditional, Mekong Delta work techniques including catching fish or picking fruits in the old, ancestral ways.

Have lunch at a home in Ut Trinh and in the afternoon, stroll around the quiet village. Then stop for a taste of fresh fruits while listening to “Southern Vietnamese folk music” (Don Ca Tai Tu) performed by locals.

One more interesting thing to do on this trip is cycling on the shady paths to other small villages to see the local farms, houses, orchards and fruit plantations & to immerse yourself in nature.

The last stop is Vinh Long city after which we will transfer back to Saigon and stay overnight in HCM.
