09.00 – 09.30 AM: Your Lan Ha Bay 3 day 2 night cruise starts at the lobby of your hotel in Hanoi, where our driver will collect you and begin the journey. For around 2 hours, we drive through the evocative Red River Delta and see traditional Vietnamese scenes from one of the oldest and most cultural areas in Vietnam. We arrive at Got Harbour after this and board the cruise ship as it waits in the open water.
Relax into the cruise as the captain weighs anchor and we set sail across the astounding limestone labyrinth ahead of us. A delicious lunch will accompany our cruising, served in a dining room with large windows allowing us views onto Da Chong Islet and its 100-year old French colonial lighthouse.
We pull up first to Tra Bau, an area of stunning beauty nestled into a quiet corner beside Cat Ba Island. Rowing gently through the secluded locale on our kayaks, we gain a better appreciation of Lan Ha Bay’s peaceful demeanor and its stately mountain landscape.
We return to our cruise and enjoy a relaxed late afternoon on the sundeck. Happy hour at the bar will provide a great atmosphere as the sun begins to sink beyond the karst rocks. A delectable dinner is served afterward in the dining room, followed by a relaxing evening spent at your leisure. This can be on the sundeck, in your cabin, or with squid fishing out on the tender boat.

Begin your day the Asian way, with a tai chi session on the top deck of your cruise. This is a great way to energise the mind and body ahead of the full day of your Lan Ha Bay 3 day 2 night cruise. We head to the dining room after this to enjoy breakfast before heading out on the day boat to enjoy a closer look at the bay.
We do this firstly by docking at Viet Hai village on Cat Ba Island, a beautiful locale with a highly traditional way of life. A brief walking tour around the village will show us this across its collection of wooden houses and stretching fields of rice below the peaks of limestone mountains. After this, we head into the outskirts of the village on bicycles, discovering the forests and lakes that lend Viet Hai its immense natural beauty.
Following our time at Viet Hai, we re-board the day boat and head back out into the bay. We have a delicious lunch as we pull up to Ba Trai Dao beach, a small but highly beautiful beach bordered by mountains and jungle. We spend the afternoon here, enjoying the white sands and the shimmering water offering great opportunities for swimming and kayaking.
We rejoin the main ship and continue our 2 night Lan Ha Bay cruise on the sundeck for another fantastic happy hour and sunset. Another delicious dinner is served in fine style in the dining room before you spend another highly tranquil evening in a manner that suits you.

This morning will be your final chance to try tai chi atop the sundeck with our accredited tai chi teacher. Afterwards, a light breakfast in the dining room will ease us into the final day of our Lan Ha Bay 3 day 2 night tour.
We sail over to the Dark & Bright Caves, two exquisite natural caverns carved by millions of years of tidal erosion. In the Bright Cave, these forces of nature have created a tunnel through which we will take a bamboo sampan boat or a kayak, emerging into a lake on the other side that provides fantastic verdant views of tropical trees clinging to the sides and tops of cliffs.
Returning to the cruise for the final time, we enjoy a cooking demonstration and a delicious lunch as we take the leisurely journey back to Got Harbour. We arrive at the harbour at about midday and disembark to the friendly waves of the staff. From here, the bus will be waiting to take us back to Hanoi, where we will arrive in the late afternoon.
The Lan Ha Bay 2 night tour will end at your hotel in the capital’s Old Quarter at around 14.30.
