Activities: Come to Hanoi and enjoy free time until a guided food tour in the evening.
You will touch down in Hanoi’s Noi Bai International Airport and proceed through customs. Here, you will find our tour guide and driver, who will welcome you with a smile and transfer you to your hotel in the city’s lively Old Quarter (you can check in anytime time from 14:00).
Enjoy the city at your own leisure before 17:30, when our guide will return to your hotel and take you on a food tour of Hanoi. You will learn more about the Vietnamese obsession with food while getting to try some of the country’s favourite dishes like Nem Ran (fried spring rolls), Goi Du Du (papaya salad) Nem Lui (beef and vegetable wraps) and Banh Xeo (crispy fried shrimp pancakes).
We finish at one of the many fantastic cafes that Hanoi has to offer, where we can enjoy a coffee or fruit juice to end the tour and the day. We head back to the hotel after this.

In the morning
The tour moves to its second destination this morning – the outstanding and otherworldly Halong Bay. We begin with a scenic 3.5-hour transfer along the Red River Delta, arriving at the port after this to board your ship.
In the afternoon
We start our voyage with a delicious seafood or vegetarian lunch, serving this in the lovely dining room before we cruise past the first of Halong Bay’s famous limestone mountains soaring straight out of the sea. You will have time for much relaxation on the boat before we arrive at Sung Sot Cave, also called the Surprising Cave, stepping inside to find an incredible world of stalactites and stalagmites formed through two chambers over tens of thousands of years. After this, we make a stop at the striking Titop Island, where you will have the opportunity to enjoy yourself on the golden sand beach, in the placid water or at the top of the island where a panoramic viewing platform offers a great view of the perfect Halong Bay scene.
In the evening
We return to the cruise after this to have a fabulous dinner and relax into a tranquil evening watching the moonlight shimmer off the surface of the ocean.

In the morning
Wake up in your cabin to the beautiful sunrise outside. Savour this further on the sundeck, where there will be a beginners’ tai chi class in the new morning light of Halong Bay. We have a delicious breakfast and continue our relaxed cruising around the bay’s amazing scenery for the morning, absorbing everything from the sundeck after you have checked out of your cabin. After many hours of relaxing, head to the dining room for a delicious early lunch, all before we return to the harbour and disembark.
In the afternoon
We take the bus to Hanoi’s airport at this point, dropping you off with plenty of time for you to catch your return or onwards flight. Alternatively, we can drop you off at a hotel in Hanoi. End of Halong Bay 2-day-1-night cruise.
