Overview

Despite the imperial image of Hue, the nature around its province is just as celebrated as the historical wonders of the city. One such area lies 40km south of Hue and projects the image of rolling green hills, beautiful lakes and stunning semi-tropical rainforest for which the central regions of Vietnam are known. The Bach Ma National Park Full-Day Tour, operated by Incredible Asia Journeys, takes you around this former French Hill Station, where the climate is cooler and the views are simply breathtaking.

The wild beauty of Bach Ma can be seen from its peak, from its lakesides and from the top of its cascading waterfalls. We visit all three on this day tour from Hue, as well as a stop-off at Cau Hai Lagoon, with its vast, watery expanse that presses up to the feet of distant mountains. We explore the huge array of flora and fauna that thrive in this elevated climate, high from the humidity of Hue Province and far-removed from the rush of the cities of Hue and Danang, between which it lies.

Itinerary

Activities: Gazing across Cau Hai Lagoon, taking in the views at Bach Ma’s peak, eating lunch at the lakeside and finding peace atop Do Quyen Waterfall before heading back to Hue.

Our driver and guide will collect you from your hotel lobby at about 08.00 am as we start this Day Trip from Hue.

You will get your first taste of stunning nature at Cau Hai Lagoon on the way to Bach Ma, where we will stop to see the sight of long, thin boats skirting across the largest lagoon in Southeast Asia.

We will make a brief stop-off at the visitor center in Bach Ma to learn about the diverse flora and fauna of the national park. Following this, we drive uphill through the exotic jungle to reach the summit of Bach Ma. The 1,450m-high peak is home to an ornate pavilion called Hai Vong Dai, which affords the most amazing views over rolling forested mountains, Cau Hai Lagoon, speckled villages, Lang Co Beach, the famous Hai Van Pass and many more of Hue’s fantastic offerings.

We will park the car and head out on foot to one of the Five Lakes. We will stop at Lake No. 5 to enjoy lunch and soak in the majesty of the lake’s perfect waters.

We continue to one of Bach Ma’s greatest natural assets, Do Quyen Waterfall. We will get a great view of the cascading water from the top of the falls and take the 600 steps down to its base for another spectacular view.
