The imposing site of Bai Dinh Pagoda displays Ninh Binh’s man-made accomplishments at their finest. The gargantuan Buddhist complex is the largest in Vietnam and provides a great final pilgrimage point to devout Buddhists all over Asia, along with an interesting look into religious construction across many different temples, pagodas and statues. Trang An represents the natural beauty of the province, which unfolds slowly from the seat of a wooden sampan boat on a cruise across its beauty-flanked river.

Activities: Take a walking tour of Bai Dinh Pagoda, followed by lunch and a boat trip around Trang An before heading back to Hanoi.
8:00 – 8:30am: Your Bai Dinh Pagoda and Trang An day tour starts with a pick-up from your hotel in Hanoi. We will take you from here to Ninh Binh province via a road cutting through the beautiful Red River Delta.
10:30am: We make our first stop at Bai Dinh Pagoda, a 540-hectare complex of temples, pagodas and statues resting in a cradle of Ninh Binh’s spectacular limestone mountains. This is Vietnam’s largest Buddhist complex and its more than 500 bronze statues are regularly visited by pilgrims from around Asia and beyond. We will spend the remainder of the morning exploring Bai Dinh Pagoda and finding much architectural beauty in front of a backdrop of Ninh Binh’s natural splendour.
(For those who cannot or do not wish to walk around the Bai Dinh Pagoda complex, there will be an optional electric car service charged at $3 USD per person
12:30pm: We take a well-deserved break at a local restaurant nearby Bai Dinh Pagoda, where we can taste the various delights of both Ninh Binh and northern Vietnam cuisine.
1:30pm: We continue the Bai Dinh Pagoda and Trang An tour at its second destination. The ecosystem of Trang An is both ancient and beautiful, fed by a river flanked by towering karst spires and the wild jungle that fans out from the banks. Our river cruise will reveal the majesty of the ecosystem over a serene 2 to 3 hours, taking place on a wooden sampan boat driven by local rowers steering with their feet. You will find a wealth of attractive fauna and flora amongst the panoramic views available from your boat, along with surprising instances of evocative architecture jutting directly out of the river.
4:00 – 4:30pm: Upon returning to the head of the river, we board our bus and head back up the highway to Hanoi, enjoying a sunset over vast fields of rice en route.
6:00 – 6:30pm: We arrive back to Hanoi’s Old Quarter in the early evening time and drop you off at your hotel. This ends the Bai Dinh Trang An Day Tour From Hanoi. We wish you all the best throughout your future endeavours in Vietnam!
