Following the established trekking paths around Sapa Town, the Best of Sapa 2 Day Tour is a conclusive look at some of the nearby communes of Sapa, homes to various tribes like the H’mong, Giay, Tay and Red Dao. This tour, operated by Incredible Asia Journeys, starts at Lao Cai train station, from where we will pick you up and drop you off.
We will meander past the scenery that Sapa has become known for worldwide; rippling rice terraces bridging the gap between the valley floor and the sky, flanked by iconic limestone mountains with small specks of mist gliding languidly by. We return to Sapa for a comfortable night’s sleep in this old French hill town, used by colonialists to escape the Hanoi summers.
We see how the locals live and have adapted to the demands of tourism in their ancient homes. We meet smiling faces along the way and take the opportunity to learn about true happiness in this most beautiful of regions.

Activities: Trekking to Y Linh Ho, Lao Chai and Ta Van Village to see the local life of Black H’mong and the Giay ethnic minority people. Climbing the small Ham Rong Mountain and back to Sapa Town for staying overnight.
Board the bus from Lao Cai train station to Sapa Town once you have arrived from Hanoi. We will have breakfast in Sapa Town before starting our trek.
We begin at 09:30, starting with a 6km walk southwest of Sapa Town, skimming the edges of rice paddies in the Muong Hoa Valley. We reach Y Linh Ho Village, one of many beautiful hilltop homes of the Black H’mong.
After a photo stop, we continue 2km along the rocky paths to Lao Chai Village, set amongst the greenery of the Muong Hoa Valley.
Following this is a short trek to a home of the Giay minority tribe, Ta Van Village, where we will stop for lunch with a local family. We can help our host cook and learn about their local life here in Sapa.
The last part of our trekking activities for the day is a 2km scenic walk to the bus stop, from which we can board a jeep or minivan back to Sapa Town.
You will have the afternoon and evening at your own leisure in Sapa Town. Climbing the small Ham Rong Mountain is a good activity for those who still have the energy to burn after the day’s trek. A stroll around the Notre Dame Cathedral and the lake are also options, as is simply relaxing with a Vietnamese coffee with the mountainous landscape stretching out in front of you.
Sit down for a delicious dinner at your hotel as the night rolls in across the Muong Hoa Valley.

Activities: Head to Cat Cat Village and take your time to discoverthe foothills of the well-known Fansipan Mountain. Meet the Red Dao people in Sin Chai Village.
You will enjoy a leisurely breakfast at your hotel before we set out at 08.30, soaking up the undulating scenery for 4km until we reach Cat Cat Village, a humble commune of the Black H’mong with many charming features.
We head to the famous waterfall at Cat Cat Village, stopping at its river to admire the power and beauty of its cascading waters. We will enjoy a picnic lunch here by the side of the river, with the perfect Sapa soundtrack in the background.
We head to the foothills of the well-known Fansipan Mountain, the tallest mountain in the Indochina region comprising Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia. We will find Sin Chai Village here, home of the Red Dao and their colourful brocades and jangling jewellery.
We take in the last of the scenery as we trek back to the main road to get the bus back to Sapa.
From Sapa, our shared bus will pick you up and drop you off in Lao Cai. Dinner in Lao Cai will be followed by your night train back to Hanoi.
