Morning transfer out of the city center (the travel time is around four hours), passing through the Red River Delta countryside, the daily rural life of Vietnamese farmers with rice fields and water buffaloes. On board your traditional wooden junk boat, and marvel at the magnificent and magical limestone mountain islands.
After lunch, the boat will stop at the island which gives you the opportunity to disembark to join in some different activities such as climbing to the summit for a panoramic view of Halong Bay, going swimming in the emerald water or simply sunbathing on the beach. If you’re feeling adventurous, you may disembark at the next stop to kayak to explore sea caves.

Spectacular food and amazing views with great little excursions to the shore; the whole trip was perfect in every way. The accommodation was pristine and felt almost like a spa. The thing I will remember the most is the niceness of the staff. Over the three days we had two different guides, “Ducky” was our first one and he was always friendly and willing to help. He assured that we were always taken care of. “Dan the Man” came in afterwards. Wow! Not only did he run the tour flawlessly but he had that magical skill to entertain all the guests and get to know each of them individually. It was really a special effort on his part and it made the tour so much better. You’ll struggle to find a better Halong Bay overnight cruise from Hanoi than this one!

We jumped onto the Halong Bay overnight boat with our guides Peter and Tom. They were very friendly and knowledgeable about different sites around the bay as well as the history of Vietnam, even including some of the sites that can be seen on the bus from Hanoi to Halong Bay. Peter and Tom were very good with my elderly parents and made sure they were happy with the pace of the tour. There were lots of opportunities to relax onboard the boat as well as on the beach which suited them well. Many other activities for the more adventurous! If you want to go to Halong Bay then I recommend a tour with vspirit, make a request for Peter and Tom to be your guides and you will have a great trip!

Dan was a great tour guide for me and my family on our 3 day cruise of Halong Bay. He showed us a lot of amazing stuff around the bay and had a great sense of humour about everything throughout. I particularly enjoyed the honeymoon cave and its spectacular temples inside. Also a big hit for the family was the excursion to the island to sit on the beach and see the monkeys that live there, along with the kayaking under the caves. Overall our Halong Bay 3 day cruise was a real treat. Big thanks to Dan for ensuring our family had a fantastic time in Halong Bay.

Rose was our guide for this trip and she was incredibly friendly, helpful and professional the whole way through. She communicated with the group a lot and made sure we understood everything that was going to happen on the Hanoi to Halong Bay bus. We arrived to a very comfortable junk ship that was far from overcrowded. All of the hospitality including the drinks, food and service was amazing and we thought nothing was overpriced. It is great to see a world wonder like Halong Bay but we were a little disappointed about some of the rubbish that we saw in the water; such a shame. The cave was certainly spectacular but it was maybe a little too crowded for my liking. There were quite a lot of ships in the water but it’s understandable as it’s a very beautiful area. If you manage to brave the crowds then a Halong Bay 2 night cruise is definitely worth it!
