Overview

Itinerary

Activities: Cycling in Cam Thanh, working with rice in the paddies, cruising the river at Phuoc Hai and catching fish and crab before lunch or dinner.

Wait in your hotel lobby at 08:00 am for pick-up from our guide. We will drive out of Hue before climbing onto our bicycles and cycling towards Cam Thanh Ecological Village, where a local host will show us their proud tradition of rice growing in the beautiful surrounds of the luxuriant greenery.

We learn how to plough the fresh soil, how to transplant the rice and about the grinding and pounding processes that follow. We have the chance to ride a water buffalo and learn how these magnificent beasts have helped in agriculture for thousands of years.

After this, we head to Phuoc Hai Fishing Village and explore another side of Vietnam's strong agricultural traditions, fishing. We join fishermen on the river at Phuoc Hai, watching them cast their traditional chai nets into the water before having a go ourselves at pulling up a good haul of fish.

We continue to a jungle of lush coconut trees, relaxing into a basket boat ride down the river and heading out onto land to learn of the local people’s relationship with their fertile land. We catch crab around the shallow waters before boarding a new boat and enjoying a delectable lunch while cruising down the river.

Boarding the mini-van at the harbor, we drive back to Hoi An where we will arrive at your hotel in the early afternoon. We thank you for joining us on the Hoi An Half Day Agricultural Tour, we very much hope to see you again soon.
