The history, nature, food culture, religion and architecture of Hue comes to life on the Hue City Full Day Tour, operated by Incredible Asia Journeys, as we take you around Vietnam’s ancient capital and the seat of power for the Nguyen Dynasty for 143 years. Hue’s attractions stretch far beyond its imposing Imperial Citadel; there is a world of serene waterways and rolling green hills in the areas surrounding Hue, with the banks of its evocative Perfume River providing the perfect conditions for life, and even death, in the tombs of the seven Nguyen Emperors who are buried here.
We visit both the Imperial Citadel and the Nguyen Emperor Tombs on the Hue City Full-Day Tour, along with the iconic Thien Mu Pagoda and a beautiful garden restaurant. Here we can explore some of the culinary delights of Hue, where two-thirds of the nation’s dishes originated. Join us for a comprehensive look through the many attractions of Day Tours from Hue.

Activities: Discovering the grandiose Nguyen Emperor Tombs and Thien Mu Pagoda along the Perfume River, before having lunch and touring around the Imperial Citadel.
Our guide will meet you at your hotel in the morning (time confirmed upon booking) and transfer you to a local boat on the Perfume River. We will visit the wonderful Thien Mu Pagoda, the product of over 400 intermittent years of work under the rule of many dynastic rulers, and now one of the outstanding landmarks of Hue, recognized throughout the country.
A short drive will take us to the tombs of seven Nguyen Emperors, ordered by Hue’s kings in a bid to give them a royal fanfare through to the afterlife. We visit the grand tomb of Emperor Khai Dinh with its eccentric mosaic interior, as well as the more humble, but equally beautiful Minh Mang Tomb overlooking the passing river below.
We head to a beautiful restaurant with an accompanying garden as we try some of Hue’s most beloved cuisine. Hue’s food culture is unparalleled anywhere else in Vietnam and most of the country’s iconic dishes have their origins in the royal court of Hue.
After lunch, we head back to Hue city to take a comprehensive tour of its Imperial Citadel, the head of a newly conquered Vietnam between 1802 and 1945. We explore the beautiful architecture of the UNESCO World Heritage site and learn of the fascinating history that took place within its walls. We see many different rooms and areas including the Forbidden Purple City, the private residences of the Nguyen Dynasty where anyone but close family members were not permitted.
Depending on the weather and time, we have the chance to watch the sunset over the Perfume River before heading back to the hotel in the early evening. Thank you for joining us on the Hue City Full Day Tour. We hope you learned a lot and have a newfound appreciation for Hue’s historical, architectural and natural wonders. We hope to see you again soon!
