Overview

Receive the complete tour package from Hanoi to Sapa on the 3-Day Sapa Trekking Tour with Bus– a tour designed for your comfort and convenience in exploring Vietnam’s emerald crown from the capital.

The beautiful mountainous region of Sapa is world-renowned for its tiered rice paddies, which descend down the flanks of valleys to rivers and streams along the shaded floor. The mountains that act as their glorious backdrop are some of the most scenic in the country, and deserve to be appreciated on a multi-day trek.

The mild trekking path of the 3-Day Sapa Trekking Tour with Bus leads us from Sapa, following quaint paths between lush fields of rice and finishing at the humble villages that house their farmers. These are people of the Black H’mong, Giay and Red Dao hill tribes, who will share with us different aspects of their respective cultures. We will stay with a Giay host in Ta Van village for one night before visiting the bustling hub of Sapa town and Fansipan Mountain, the tallest mountain across the three countries of Indochina.

Itinerary

Activities: Arriving in Sapa by bus, trekking along paths to quaint villages and ending at our homestay in Ta Van.

Between 07.00 and 07.30, our driver will collect you from your hotel in Hanoi’s Old Quarter and take you to Sapa with the bus. Meet your guide for lunch once you have arrived and set out to start the trek.

We begin by skirting the side of the Muong Hoa Valley, taking in the rolling views of beautifully layered rice paddies and fruit orchards. We will see small Black H’mong villages speckled around the valley and will eventually arrive at a couple in the forms of Y Linh Ho and Lao Chai. We will have a short break and a chance to chat to the locals about life in this mountainous wonderland.

Descending a local path to the valley floor, we stop to peruse the fruit and vegetables on sale at roadside stalls, before taking up a scenic position and sitting down for lunch.

We continue trekking to the middle of the Muong Hoa Valley where we will find Ta Van Village.  We will be welcomed by our warm host – an ethnic Giay member, part of a hill tribe that comprises most of the population of Ta Van and some other villages around this region. Learn more about Giay culture at the homestay, where you can help our host to cook dinner and discover many interesting facets of a unique hill tribe culture.

We will have dinner and sleep in Ta Van under a starry sky.

 Meals:  Lunch, Dinner

Activities: Lunch at a waterfall and trekking through bamboo forests, arriving in Sapa to spend the late afternoon and evening.

We will have breakfast with our host and their family before waving goodbye and continuing the trek towards Giang Ta Chai. The trek undulates with the topography of the hills and passes many beautiful sights like the ubiquitous rice paddies and thick forests of bamboo.

Reaching a nearby waterfall, we will take a break for lunch surrounded by the beauty of nature at full force.

Cross the bridge over the river to reach the village of Giang Ta Chai and the colourful Red Dao minority that lives here. We take a look around the vibrant enclave and push on through the early afternoon to a hill, where our car will pick us up and return us to Sapa.

You will have free time in Sapa town and the chance to visit its many attractions, such as Sapa Lake and Ham Rong Mountain and gardens.

 Meals:  Breakfast, Lunch

Notes: Make your own arrangements for dinner and stay overnight in Sapa town.

Activities: Taking the car and cable car transfer to the peak of Fansipan Mountain before returning to Hanoi by bus.

We will have a relaxed breakfast at the hotel before getting into the car and taking the drive to the foothills of Fansipan Mountain. On foot, it is a full-day or two-day hike to reach the peak, but the cable car will carry us there in about 20 minutes, giving us the most amazing views as we sail over forested mountains and get a real sense of the scale of Sapa.

After the 6.2km journey by cable car, we get out and explore the Roof of Indochina. You will get some stunning panoramas of Sapa and Lai Chau provinces from here and can clearly see the Muong Hoa Valley and the thick canopy of the Hoang Lien National Forest down below. Once we have absorbed all of the region’s beauty, we will descend via cable car and take the return car to Sapa.

At 15:00, we will board the bus for the 5.5-hour return to Hanoi. This is where the 3-Day Sapa Trekking Tour with Bus will end. Thank you for joining us on this magical tour, we sincerely hope to have the pleasure of your company in the future!
