The drive from Hanoi to Halong Bay will take approximately four hours, passing through many typical North Vietnamese towns and villages. Upon reaching the wharf, you will be welcomed aboard the traditional wooden junk, followed by a stunning local seafood lunch onboard. You will leave the mainland far behind as your boat sails out to the magical bay.
During your Halong Bay 1 night cruise, you will have the opportunity to venture into the hidden areas of the bay by kayak. Really good package deal to see the highlights of Halong Bay. Our tour guide Jimmy was amazing, he really went above and beyond in his efforts to make us feel comfortable and he had a great spirit and attitude to life, he was a real pleasure. Even for me and my friend who are vegetarians, the food was great, and everything was arranged perfectly for us. We had a very straightforward pick-up from the hotel in the morning and we arrived to spacious cabins on the boat. Mattresses were maybe a bit firm but overall it was not too bad. Activities included hiking through a cave, kayaking Halong Bay, cruising Halong Bay, beach time and an informative cooking class, all in the two days that we were there!
