08.45 – 10.15: We will move to the wooden junk boat today in order to reach some areas that the Indochina Sails cruise ship cannot reach. Our first stop is Luon Cave, one of the most interesting of the Halong Bay caves, where passengers can keep an eye out for the golden-haired monkeys.

10.30: We will head straight to Cua Van Fishing Village afterwards, a very beautiful village set against the backdrop of the limestone mountains. You will have the choice between kayaking around the village or taking a leisurely bamboo boat (sampan) that will be rowed by a villager.

12.30: A beautiful lunch will be laid out on the day boat, after which we will head to the floating pearl farm for an examination of the processes of creating precious jewels.

15.30: Rejoin the Indochina Sails boat as we kick back and head towards the anchorage area for the night.

19.30: Head to the dining room for another luscious dinner as the sun sets behind the limestone karsts.

"A Wonderful Overnight Stay in Halong Bay"

Indochina Sails

This cruise far exceeded our expectations. We went purely on the recommendation of our hotel, without much knowledge of Indochina Sails beforehand, but everything went perfectly. The boat, cabin and bathroom were all fantastic and the meals had so much variety – and were all delicious. We couldn’t have asked for more courteous, friendly and professional staff to be taking care of us, they were fabulous. The scenery is just enchanting and we got to experience it up close at the cave and the beach. The weather was overcast but that didn’t take much of the charm away. Thank you Indochina Sails for a fantastic trip, we are sure to be back!

"2Day/1Night with the Indochina Sails Boat!"

Indochina Sails

We went in late December to Halong Bay and booked everything through email. The service was first-class and remained like this until the very end of the cruise. The boat was gorgeous and had very comfortable cabins of a very good size. The large rooms and wooden décor made everything about the bay a lot more beautiful! The rest of the boat has a charming dining room and massive sun deck with reclining lounge chairs. We’d heard about Halong bay being crowded, but discovered when we were here that it’s just because people like to complain about things. There are quite a few boats following the same itinerary as each other, but we still had so much space and some great views to enjoy in pretty much total isolation at times. The scenery itself was stunning, even if the weather was a big foggy and cold, but we enjoyed ourselves immensely nonetheless.Brilliant service on the boat as well as frequent meals with lots of taste and choice. You can buy alcoholic drinks at the bar but be aware that these incur an extra cost.We got to the bay and back with a 10-seater van that our family of 4 shared with another family of 4. It worked out perfectly and we made some friends even before we’d gotten on the boat. Thank you so much to everyone involved in making our trip so special, we really appreciate it!

"Has to be the Best in the Bay!"

Indochina Sails

I’m overwhelmed with the amount of positive things I could say about the Indochina Sails. Even before we started, I knew we were in safe hands. We had a smooth and simple communication with the booking person through email and they actually followed this up by calling us and visiting us in person – very thorough! We originally booked the seaplane service from Hanoi airport to Halong Bay, but there were some complications with the seaplane company that meant our flight was rescheduled to a day we couldn’t do. When we mentioned this to Indochina Sails, they refunded us with no hesitation and organised a private car to Halong Bay, which ended up being a very comfortable alternative. The cabins were just exquisite, the best of all of the many cruises that I have been on before. The service by the staff matched that of the booking and driving departments – i.e, flawless. David Chen was our wonderful cruise director, and Thom and Ha were fantastic guides and helpers. The rest of the staff were caring, attentive and did an excellent job in making us feel well looked after. I still regret not taking the 3 day option as I believe this is the only way that my experience could have been improved. Really excellent stuff from Indochina Sails – I will most definitely be back!

"Phenomenal Cruise in Halong Bay"

Indochina Sails

What a beautiful way to spend 2 days!Everything about this cruise, especially the super sweet staff, was an incredible experience. We celebrated my birthday on the boat and the staff brought me a cake with flowers. They seemed genuinely happy to be such a big part of my joy, so that was really beautiful to experience. I want to thank every last one of them.We were there at the end of January and the weather was okay but not great. This did absolutely nothing to ruin the beauty of the boat, the food, the staff and the room. The room had a load of space and was really really clean (before we entered!) The ensuite bathroom was lovely and the views were gorgeous through the large windows. We went to Surprise Cave and Titov Island, both of which were fun but maybe a tiny bit crowded.A fantastic experience overall, one with virtually no negatives. Thank you so much to the lovely crew for making my birthday special, and thanks to everyone at Indochina Sails for a well-planned and well-run trip!

"Wonderful Scenery and Top Class Service"

Indochina Sails

We got to view one of the most exciting wonders of the world with the Indochina Sails. The weather wasn’t fantastic, but the atmosphere of the bay remained the same, and it was really wonderful. Even with the large amounts of tourist boats, it seemed that everyone was there for the relaxation, and the peaceful atmosphere fitted this perfectly. There are great views everywhere, and each turn of the corner reveals something new. The excursions that we did out in the bay let us get close to the action. We had a great time kayaking and in the caves. Really fantastic food and a great team of staff that served it to you.The cabins are roomy with some good amenities – everything appears to be catered for here. There are no modern distractions like a TV or Wifi, but we preferred it this way as we had less reason to look away from the beautiful bay.We definitely weren’t at full capacity on the boat, so we had plenty of space to roam around.I’m guessing the use of the sails is just for the brochure as they didn’t come up once the whole time we were there. Please try to visit Halong Bay, your life will be better for it! Also go with Indochina Sails, they really blew us away with the level of service – thanks entirely to the company and the wonderful crew aboard the boat.
