"Tour Guide Long and the Dragon Legend Cruise – Halong Bay"

Dragon Legend Cruise

We were two 29 year olds from America and we joined the Dragon Legend Cruise when Long was on shift, so we think we got lucky here! He was a very friendly and engaging tour guide.Every little thing was just wonderful – from the pick up to the decorations and the focus on the customer’s enjoyment. It’s a very clean cabin on arrival. Really nicely decorated and spacious with a powerful AC and wonderful en suite. Loads of great places to relax on the boat, including the fantastic sun deck. We enjoyed the activities, especially the kayaking as we really got a chance to get out and touch the rocks that we’d be gazing at for so long. Along with the fantastic Long, we had good times and banter from the rest of the crew. We were very impressed with them and especially the housekeeper, Phoung, who produced some beautiful sounds during the musical performance at night. Tuan was the cook and he nailed a very tasty menu with lots of Vietnamese and fusion food.At the last minute, we decided to go to Cat Ba island, so we didn’t get the return bus back to Hanoi. Not only did the crew give us information on how to do that, the company then refunded us part of the cost of the trip for not using the bus service! Also, I accidentally left a very expensive water bottle on the boat and they returned it to me in Hanoi without a fuss. Excellent customer service – you should be proud, Dragon Legend Cruise!

"Beautiful Cruise, Halong Bay, Vietnam"

Dragon Legend Cruise

Such a fantastic cruise. I don’t know what I was expecting but it wasn’t that high level!  The crew went far beyond my expectation. I thought they would be there just to serve me but I spent a lot of time chatting to them and sharing jokes. My wife had to pull out at the last minute because she was ill, but she was adamant that I came on my own anyway, so I did. The crew were very sympathetic when they heard this and put in a special effort with me, keeping me in great company for the whole cruise. Thank you Long, Milkman and the rest of the crew for your efforts! The activities were really well planned and fun. We took some kayaks out, did some light hiking through a cave, went to a lovely beach and did some swimming. All very nice. The food was so tasty, and I really enjoyed the musical performance during the dinner, which I wasn’t really expecting, but Phong played the most beautiful traditional instrument. Cabins were also very nice and roomy.Thank you everyone for this excellent trip. I will return to the Dragon Legend with my wife, for sure.

"Amazing 2 days on the Dragon Legend cruise"

Dragon Legend Cruise

This has got to be one of the best cruises in Halong Bay – they surely can’t all be this good! We had a great transfer to the waiting lounge and saw the boat for the first time, sitting majestically in the bay. Onboard were the most fantastic crew member, who stopped at nothing to make sure that we were happy and satisfied with the service – and we always were!Large spacious rooms with wonderful detailing in the décor and the perfect en suite with bathtub and open view from the window. Upstairs there’s plenty of sun loungers and even a swimming pool. The smiles never left the faces of the friendly and hilarious staff. They were a joy to be around and added a great atmosphere to the place. Great planning in the itinerary, but I felt the acitivities were a little short. We went kayaking and looked round a cave, but both were quite short, and there was no opportunity for swimming or relaxing on the beach. This wasn’t much of a problem as it just meant more time to spend on the gorgeous boat, so we weren’t complaining!Total value for money. An incredible cruise – thanks Dragon Legend!

"The Dragon Legend – What a Highlight"

Dragon Legend Cruise

What a great experience it is, to be in Bai Tu Long Bay with the Dragon Legend. It was such a perfect time out on that beautiful boat.Even 4 months before I arrived in the country, I was already getting some great customer service from the booking team as they helped me out with all of my enquiries and gave me lots of information of their own. I thought I’d died and gone to heaven when I stepped into that cabin, it was simply stunning!Despite the top-rate facilities on board, the best part about the cruise is the people. My special commendations go to Harry Potter and Jack Daniels – both were awesome dudes to hang out with and both gave me a very professional service throughout. The rest of the crew were brilliant as well, they always take the time to say hello and help you out with things. The food was out of this world – that chef sure is one talented guy! Speaking of talent, there was a very entertaining musical performance put on during dinner by the crew. I’ve been around the block a bit now but this is certainly one of the best experiences of my life. I can’t thank the Dragon Legend team enough for making it so special!

"A Grand Time on the Dragon Legend"

Dragon Legend Cruise

It’s been a feature of my bucket list for a while, as it should be with everyone’s, so I was very glad to step onto the deck of the Dragon Legend for the first time to begin the adventure. We actually went to Bai Tu Long Bay in the end but apart from the fewer boats, there’s no discernible difference in appearance.Everyone aboard the Dragon Legend ensured that I had the best time possible. Coco and Long were just so great in their friendliness and helpfulness. It was a joy to see them every time on the boat and it seemed like a genuine joy for them to see us as well!Great activities overall. Loved the kayaking and the visit to the cave, but really the best thing to do there is claim a sun lounger and just gaze across the wonderful bay. We spent most of our time doing that and we loved every minute of it.Thank you everyone at Dragon Legend for ensuring I can cross this off my list with a big grin on my face!

"Dragon Legend Cruise – Worth Every Penny"

Dragon Legend Cruise

Wow. We can’t tell you how glad we are that we splashed out a bit on the Dragon Legend Cruise. That extra money went on one of the best experiences we’ve ever done.Organisation was astounding – they thought of all the little things like bringing towels to the beach visit. They also made small changes to my food to accommodate for my special diet and dislikes. We had fantastic food because of that.Really good cave tour, but I wish I had brought some walking shoes as it is pretty difficult doing it in flip flops! We liked the efforts of the staff to protect the environment a bit more than boats have done in the past. Harry proudly told us that the levels of rubbish are gradually reducing and more companies, like the Dragon Legend Cruise, are adopting refillable bottle stations rather than using a new plastic bottle every time.Great entertainment by Harry, Andy and Lucky, all of whom were super welcoming and we loved their company! Special props to the cleaners as well, who were like ninjas while we were away on excursions, but always left our room in a sparkling state for when we returned. Thanks to everyone!

"2 Days on the Dragon Legend in Bai Tu Long Bay"

Dragon Legend Cruise

Our neighbours back home had showed us many pictures of Halong Bay and the boat that they went on – the Dragon Legend Cruise. We had just booked a vacation to Vietnam and decided to go with the exact same company – we were not let down at all!Our neighbours didn’t get many pictures of the cabins, but we were pleasantly surprised to find how beautiful they were. What a glorious bed it was! Unbelievably soft – I don’t know how we managed to get out of bed in the morning. We DID see many pictures of the food but were still blown away by the immaculate presentation when it arrived at our table. It was also incredibly tasty and there was a lot of it!Andy was fantastic in dealing with his guests and was the perfect host of the ship. All of the crew, but especially Tony, Robinson and Columbus, gave us very warm receptions every time they saw us and we became very close very quickly! We miss them a lot now but we hope to come back and see them again – we certainly wouldn’t want to go with any other company that Dragon Legend.

"3 Days and 2 Nights with the Wonderful Dragon Legend!"

Dragon Legend Cruise

Incredibly scenic cruise with a very talented crew who made it that much better! Our minibus even had armchairs on the way to Halong Bay, and charging points which made it all feel super luxurious. The luxury was carried on about 3.5 hours later when we got to Bai Tu Long Bay and climbed aboard. We met our tour guide Mr. Long, who was very nice and helpful. The staff showed us to our very nice room, with a deep-lying bath and a wonderful rainfall shower. There was some serious sense of humour running throughout the Dragon Legend - Vu Moneyman, the cashier and barman (didn’t get your names) were hilarious and also very professional in their roles. As far as activities went, we did some kayaking and then swimming around the saltwater pool, which was the epitome of luxury. We ended up relaxing completely and eating more than our waistlines will thank us for! No matter – it was a fantastic holiday.

"What a Crew on the Dragon Legend!"

Dragon Legend Cruise

Fantastic trip aboard the Dragon Legend with an amazing bunch of people. Even the staff at the office were incredibly patient and helpful when we rifled through our hundreds of questions. We booked originally on the Prince 2 but that was cancelled due to bad weather, so we went at a different time with the Dragon Legend, which worked out perfectly for us!The luxury van was truly luxurious and got us to the check in lounge in style. After a simple procedure, we boarded the Dragon Legend and we were off.The website described it as a floating luxury hotel and I couldn’t agree more! There were some incredibly elegant touches that would be the pride of any 5* hotel on land. The weather on the first and the last days wasn’t great but it meant that we strongly appreciated the presence of the sun on the second day.We kayaked once in the sun and once in the rain and genuinely couldn’t decide which one was better, both were fantastic in their own way. Stunning scenery around the bay, made better by the fact that Bai Tu Long Bay does not get very busy with boats, giving you a much more time and space to chill. We had some sublime food – some of the best we tasted in the country -  and all came in the form of 5 or 6 course meals! Lots of meat, vegetables, fish, BBQ etc. We ate everything that was put in front of us but we noticed that other passengers got alternative meals if they didn’t like the main choice.Incredible staff! We loved the company of the very talented JD, who memorised all 40 passengers by face and name before they even stepped foot on the boat! He was also very down to earth and gave some beautiful music performances on some Vietnamese traditional instruments. Mr. Smiley and Tony were also fantastic and they ended up helping us a lot. We’re not the cruisey kind of couple, me and my husband, but if other cruises are half the quality of the Dragon Legend Cruise then we’ll be very happy to jump on board!

"A Memorable time with Dragon Legend"

Dragon Legend Cruise

I travelled solo with the Dragon Legend Cruise to Halong bay and took the 2 day 1 night experience. Mr. Long was leading our tour and we couldn’t have had a better person at the helm!I chose this cruise initially for the option of the single cabin, which is not a feature on many ships, but after reading about the double, I decided to upgrade for only $55 more, which was money very well spent! Very spacious cabin with a gigantic bath tub that looks out over the water. The bed was the most comfortable I’ve ever experienced. There was some fantastic food served throughout, especially the lunch and dinner, which were off the scale. Naturally there is a lot of seafood presence in the dish, but I mentioned that I’m not a huge fan of seafood and they set about finding me suitable alternatives – it really was great service and fantastic organisation to keep track of who liked and didn’t like what. The entertainment during dinner was always top class. There was either Mr. Long giving us a mystical account of the legend of Bai Tu Long Bay, amazing music from Phong the housekeeper and excellent magic tricks performed by Milkman. The staff in general were fantastic, and then always made the time to come and speak to me, as I was travelling solo.I didn’t do many of the activities to be honest and I wanted a really relaxing time on the boat. I had heard that they were fantastic things to do, but I didn’t regret my decision to stay on the boat and I felt like a new, refreshed man after stepping off!Mr. Long and his crew aboard the Dragon Legend Cruise made this one of the best things I have ever done in my life. I’ll never forget it and I’ll never forget the people who made it. Thank you everyone!

"Awesome Experience on the Dragon Legend"

Dragon Legend Cruise

Outstanding on all fronts. One of the best night’s sleeps I’ve ever had! Seriously comfortable beds and a fantastic cabin in general. Amazing Crew. I love the crazy English names they come up with! Harry Potter was brilliant fun and I loved having him around. Wang was also really great and helpful, while Andy was the personification of excellent hospitality in meeting out needs.Great activities in the bay, even if the weather was a bit adverse! It rained a lot but most of us still wanted to head out, and it actually created a really nice atmosphere where people were laughing like crazy while getting absolutely soaked during the kayaking! The crew were waiting back on the boat with towels and a smile, as always. Couldn’t recommend the Dragon Legend any more, really!

"The Dragon Legend is Fantastic – Don’t Delay!"

Dragon Legend Cruise

We had been with Indochina Junk before but this time went for the Dragon Legend, which is part of the same company. The first time was amazing and this time was just as good! The weather wasn’t the best but that didn’t dampen the spirits of me, my husband, our two kids and my 74 year-old parents. We all have a thoroughly good time!I’m sure you’ve read it before, but the crew really do make this trip special. All credit to Long, our excellent tour guide who was hilarious and just great fun to be around. You can eat the wonderfully delicious food while staring out the windows in the restaurant at the gorgeous scenery outside. More great service from the magician, Milkman, who wowed the kids during dinner and even a few of the oldies as well! Lucky was also fantastic and brilliant to talk to. We spent a long time finding out more about Bai Tu Long Bay from him. Me and my mother really enjoyed the foot massage at the spa and have to say it was one of the highlights of an already highlight-heavy cruise. This will not be our final time aboard the Dragon Legend Cruise!

"Wonderful Staff on the Dragon Legend Cruise – and a Great Cabin to Boot!"

Dragon Legend Cruise

High recommendations for the 2day/1night cruise with the Dragon Legend Cruise! I thought this was the perfect amount of time to spend in the bay as we had much time for relaxing but also doing the available activities like kayaking and caving. We had the pleasure of Smiley, Lucky and Milkman’s company as we sailed through the bay, after they had welcomed us to the ship with great enthusiasm! welcomed us on board with gusto! Everything was very safe and we always had life jackets to hand.Everything about the room and the bed was amazing. I was in room 302 with its gorgeous spa bathtub which I got plenty of use out of. Bai Tu Long Bay sounds much more quiet compared to Halong, from what I’ve heard. We did some kayaking towards a secluded beach and chilled for quite a while with absolutely no one else around!Lots of very tasty food and I can personally vouch for the tastiness of the mojitos, which I taste tested thoroughly! There was the chance the next morning to go and explore the cave via bamboo boat, but it was raining heavily so I decided to get the most out of my cabin before checkout. Before that, I managed to rise early enough for tai chi on the sundeck, which was really nice. Can’t say enough good words about the Dragon Legend Cruise – scintillating stuff!
