We had travelled with our 2 small kids that made us a bit worried before the trip. However, we had a great choice to join Perla Dawn Sails. The boat ship facilities were new & good & the cabin was spacious. But what we loved most was the services that all staffs on the cruise gave us. They always helped us to take care our kid during the excursions, even at breakfast, lunch or dinner time, or at anytime we needed their help. My daughter loved Bich for her kindness and friendliness. I was very glad to see that my easy-to-be-shy little boy was opened to play with his “friends” on the cruise. There was no issues or worries during the time we on the cruise. About safety onboard, life jackets were always ready for both adults and kids. The cruise is in a traditional & pristine character that we loved very much. Thanks you for all!
This was our first time we visited Halong Bay on a cruise. The booking process was smooth. The itinerary was perfect and very suitable for those who want to have relaxed time. To be honest, I must say that the crews helped us get a memorable trip, especially for our kids. They played with the staffs as friends. Before the trip, we had worried that we might need to take much care to our kids (3 & 6 yo only), but all were okay because we get much help from the staff for 2 days 1 night onboard. We wish we have booked for 3 days 2 nights rather than only 2 days itinerary. Our kids didn’t want to leave Perla Dawn after we finished the itinerary. We will return soon. Thank all staffs, esp Bic, for all your help. We miss u!
We had the first class cabin among 18 cabins of Perla Dawn Sails. Our cabin was on the 2nd deck with a private balcony and 02 sun chair lougues. We started from Hanoi and got on the cruise around noon on the first day and returned the dock at noon of the next day. We had seen got closer to the real rock formation in Halong Bay. Halong Bay is truly unique and spectacular. We could enjoy it for hours. 24 hours here was not enough for us. We had 4 great meals (1 breakfast, 1 lunch and 1 dinner). We also had swimming. The water was rather cold in the winter, so there was not many people swam. We joined squid fishing at night, did Tai Chi exercises in the early morning and cooking class to learnt how to make spring rolls. We also liked the performance traditional Vietnamese music by Mr. Happy with his special instruments, and would like to say thank you to Bic for her enthusiasm.

Bich was the cruise manager, Lucky was our waitress, Harry was our tour guide and Happy was the musical artisan. All of them made our trip with Perla Dawn Sails. All activities were followed as in the itinerary on the website. We were being rowed by the local on a sampan boat to visit beautiful caves, also did kayaking around the fish farm and fish squid at night – I had caught a squid after more than 30 minutes. During the dinner, there was a person who celebrated her 24th birthday and they invited all guests on the cruise to join them together. What a wonderful dinner time! We loved Perla Dawn and would like to back again in the next trip to Vietnam.

We loved the cruise itinerary with Perla Dawn Sails. This was the highlight of our trip to Asia Tour. We had an upgrade from Junior Suite to the cabin on the second floor, which was a huge room and we could see the islets of Halong Bay floating by. The crews were friendly, helpful and very professional with all were well-organized. Special thanks to Bich – our tour guide. She was a fabulous tour guide. Bich gave us so many information about Halong Bay & Lan Ha Bay history. She also took care all clients very well. We love cooking demonstration time when we leant to make spring rolls and enjoyed our handmade dish. We also joined small bamboo boat to watch Dark & Bright Cave. Bich shown us the moneys playing on the rock mountains and we took some beautiful pictures. We loved the way to see the nature. The food we ate was great. We also tried massages services. The cabin as I said was spacious and clean. Highly recommend to anyone who are looking for a great cruise in Halong Bay.
Our one night stay in a luxury cruise certainly took sailing to the next level. The boat was luxurious, classy and well-maintained. It seems to be refurnished recently. They have a full bar, a large deck with gorgeous view of the bay. It’s so beautiful, just like heaven on earth. Our rooms were clean and the itinerary was filled with exciting activities (swimming, kayaking in the pristine water, cooking, visiting caves…). The room was of good size with enclosed bathroom and air conditioner. The most important part of this amazing trip is the crew. They were great, took care of all guests and my husband even received a surprise birthday cake! The meal was fantastic and it wasn’t just pre-made foods. They were all cooed freshly by chefs and were beyond delicious. We really enjoyed the live music at dinnertime. It was overall a great experience. You will feel so relaxed after this trip. If we ever visit again we’ll definitely sail the sea with Perla Dawn Sails.
We were recommended a one night trip in Halong Bay by our receptionist. It was the best experience ever. We were picked up at the hotel by a luxury van, very comfortable and luxurious. The boat was new and beautiful decorated with Vietnamese culture influences. We got a nice room with private balcony and an amazing bathtub. Lunch was served later then in the restaurant with plentiful choices in buffet style. Then we visited Bright Cave by bamboo boats, which was absolutely peaceful and incredibly tranquil. We also went swimming in the crystal water of the bay. The water here was so clean and clear, not as polluted as Halong Bay. After swimming, we watched the sunset over the bay, an amazing moment. Dinner was the highlight of the trip with candles and traditional music performance. What a lifetime experience! We slept very well after a long day. The bed was so soft and AC was perfect. Sunrise was also a magnificent time. Next day we went kayaking again and we visited a fishing farm. Kayaking is a must-try in Lan Ha Bay, so much fun. The water was calm and quite easy for beginners like me. We returned to the boat and joined a cooking class to learn how to make spring rolls. We then had lunch and got to the harbor by noon. The luxury van was ready to pick us up and we were dropped at our hotel. Overall we really enjoyed the trip with Perla Dawn Sails cruise from the beginning to the end. Thank you and we will definitely recommend to all our friends.
I travelled to Halong Bay and Lan Ha Bay many times on many different cruises but Perla Dawn Sails cruise exceeded my expectation. To be honest, this cruise is not as big as the others but it is modern and comfortable with traditional Vietnamese style. My brother and I really enjoyed the activities planned for us as well as the meals on board. I read the comments below and found out that they were not happy with the food. Actually, the cruise served Vietnamese cuisine. If you are a fan of Vietnamese food or willing to learn more about it, this is a great choice. However, with any request about Halal food or diet menu, I think you should note and check with them before arrival because they need time to prepare ingredients. This is just my opinion. Our cabin was clean and comfortable providing scenic view of the limestone mountains from our private balcony. The staffs on board were exceptional. The manager tried to help us when we brought a slight issue with the bathroom. Our tour guide conducted our activities in a well-planned manner. Especially, the receptionist encouraged us at night squid fishing and he did a wonderful cooking demonstration with fresh spring rolls. With 2 days 1 night, we had a memorable trip. We enjoyed every moment on Perla Dawn Sails. I’d strongly recommend booking this cruise on your visit.
My girlfriend and I went on the Perla Dawn Sails for 2D1N and it was a wonderful experience so far. When we arrived at the boat we become really surprised. It looked so luxurious and the rooms were very comfortable. Everyone got their own balcony with ocean view and a bathtub. Insane! The bed faced to the bay, which offered us a wonderful view when lying on the bed. Actually, it rained a lot on the first day but everything was arranged perfectly and nothing was missed. Raincoat were well prepared to make sure that we can join all activities properly. We enjoyed a beautiful lunch served up to us while taking in the breathtaking sights either side of us. The bamboo boat activity was nice to see, and we really enjoyed swimming afterwards. After dinner we enjoyed some Vietnamese music performance live on board. The staffs were so kind with us and everyone else, we never left looking for anything at all. Next morning we enjoyed our breakfast before kayaking. A cooking demonstration followed and then we had lunch. I have never eaten that much delicious seafood before. We highly recommend this cruise if you a looking for a non-touristic area. Lan Ha Bay is quieter and less touristic than Halong Bay but it’s still so beautiful and impressive without all the people and plastic trash. Thank you Perla Dawn Sails!
When I booked Perla Dawn Sails, I was a little bit concerned because it was quite new cruise and there were not much reviews. But they did not make me disappointed. I had an incredible time on the 3 day 2 night cruise. Lan Ha Bay is such a mysterious place and made everything greater by the fantastic team. You definitely have to complete 3 days there, 2 day cruise is just not enough! First, a 7 seat Limousine car picked me up on time at my hotel. The Perla Dawn Sails was luxurious and satisfying. The excursion was well organized with bamboo boat, we did some kayaking and swimming and a sunset party in the afternoon. On the next day, we did kayaking again, visited a fishing farm and joined a cooking demonstration class. Everything was perfect, especially the meals. They were awesome, thank you to all talented chefs on board. You can have a various choices to customize your trip in case you don’t want to attend any of those activities and just need to relax. We totally had a fantastic time with Perla Dawn Sails in Lan Ha Bay, but I only wish I could stay there for a week!
We just took one night for the cruise but regretted it when it was time to leave! We didn’t know what to expect from the cruise seeing as it was brand new, but it exceeded our expectations completely. Our cabin was the embodiment of luxury. Ultra-high quality furnishings (including the bed, which was just insane), balcony and massive window where we could see everything happening in the bay. The cruise is lucky to have such a great bunch of staff working for them. They were amazingly caring throughout the whole trip. We spoke to them and found out that they often work long days and don’t see their families for weeks while out at sea. It’s just incredible that they have this level of resolve and commitment to customers while working so hard! We began the whole cruise with a beautiful lunch and then engaged in some of the activities in the bay, such as kayaking and swimming and a cave visit. The onboard activities like Tai Chi and cooking came the next day. If you need an alternative to the overly crowded Halong Bay, I would definitely recommend Lan Ha Bay with Perla Dawn Sails.
We spent the full two nights with the Perla Dawn Sails and can’t complain at all. The staff were the best, tending to our needs whenever there was the smallest thing. The boat was so beautiful and it matched the scenery outside. We spent a lot of time relaxing on the bed in our cabin, just watching the scenery go by. The beds are also really comfy, so it was hard to get off! The second day was the highlight for us. We cycled to a village and all around it, it really was like Shangri-La or something. We dived off the boat into the water and it was such a rush! One of my favourite experiences ever! They returned us to the main cruise and we had dinner on the top deck with candles and live music in the background. The artists were members of staff who were clearly multi-talented, especially the maintenance guy, who played about 4 different instruments and sang as well! Props to him! Thanks to all the staff and everyone we dealt with in booking this great tour, we hope to be back soon!
We took the long cruise (3D2N) with Perla Dawn Sails. Great transfer to the bay, with a safe and professional driver. The boat was outstanding and new, with great cabins and sundeck. The staff are absolutely wonderful and they catered for my vegan diet perfectly! The whole time they showed a passion to help guests have the best possible time they can, and worked tirelessly to achieve that. Amazing effort. The tour program itself was very good. There was a good combination of high and low-energy activites, so we could pick and choose accordingly. We went swimming, kayaking, and visited a fishing village, but those were just some of the highlights. What we loved most was simply chilling out on the boat. We had had a few rough days of long travel and some bad organisation, so 3 days aboard a gorgeous cruise ship was the perfect remedy. The boat was beautiful and was set up for perfect relaxation in the cabins, spa and the sundeck. We heard that Lan Ha Bay was quieter than Halong Bay and from what I saw, that had to be true. Thanks Perla Dawn, you made our holiday incredible!
Our daughter booked us this trip, seeing as she lives in Hanoi and knew the area better than her parents. It was just amazing from start to finish. The luxury bus that picked us up felt very regal! Seeing as the harbour is closer than Halong Bay, the company picks you up a bit later, giving you a chance for a sleep-in or some breakfast. There was a good amount of Vietnamese and Western decoration, which was all very attractive. Our room had a bathtub and a balcony at the front, with super comfortable beds and lovely wooden flooring in the bathroom. Our room was on the second deck, right next to the restaurant, which was convenient for breakfast and lunch. We had a lot of fresh seafood to eat for lunch and we especially loved the soup and the steamed fish with soy sauce. We visited the cave on bamboo boats after this, which was great, and then we had the freedom to swim around it. My daughter mentioned that Halong Bay was polluted, but I couldn’t see much going on in Lan Ha Bay in terms of pollution. We came back for the sunset party, which was as beautiful as I’d hoped. Dinner was so romantic and lovely. It was served on the top deck under candlelight, with Vietnamese music on in the background. It didn’t take long for us to fall asleep, we were exhausted by the time we got back to our cabin. The bed was really soft and the AC was at the perfect temperature. We had planned to get up for sunrise but overslept because of how comfy the beds are. In the morning after breakfast, we went to the fish farm and kayaked around it a bit. My husband stayed on land because of a bad knee, so I went out of my own. I thought it was really fun. The water was so calm and it wasn’t much effort at all. Our guide Amy showed the passengers who had never done it how it was supposed to be done. That was very helpful for me!We did the cooking class when we got back and had another buffet lunch before we left.In the end, it was a really great trip and we have to thank Perla Dawn Sails for the following reasons:- The staff were great, very friendly and professional even though they have to work very long hours. - Food was delicious and plentiful- The boat was brand new and in very good condition. It had a beautiful deck upstairs- We did a lot of interesting activities in a very scenic area.- Amy was such a great guide, very patient and understanding, not to mention beautiful - The Luxury Van was the best way to get to the bay – so roomy and comfortable. Thanks again Perla Dawn, you’ve certainly earned our recommendation!
Me and my girlfriend took the Perla Dawn Sails 2D1N cruise on Thursday 19th July. It was raining when we arrived, but it didn’t ruin the atmosphere of the boat. We had a great lunch in the dining room while gazing at the big cliffs around Lan Ha Bay. We went out on a bamboo boat, which was cool, then we swam around the water in the pouring rain, it was great to see that no one was bothered by it! We got back for Happy Hour and took full advantage, chatting to some of the staff, namely Kenny, Lucky and Cody, who were great company and also very professional in what they did. Dinner was delicious, served upstairs once the rain had stopped, and we had a live performance of Vietnmaese music afterwards. We met Happy, the bar man in the evening, who was really friendly and you can see how he got his name! We had breakfast the next day before we headed out in kayaks, and returned to a cooking class followed by lunch.I really enjoyed the tour overall and my girlfriend did too. It really was made by the people we met, including the lovely staff. We slipped some money into the tip box afterwards because of the warmth and kindness we received from the crew.
We did the one night and two day trip with the Perla Dawn Sails and it was very good! The public area like the reception and the kitchen were very smart. We were very relaxed as soon as we stepped onto the boat. Our cabin had a huge window with a balcony right in front of it, and the beds were close by, meaning we could stare out of the window for ages while lying back!On the day we arrived, it was raining quite heavily. This didn’t faze anyone and the staff just handed out raincoats and took us out anyway. We got wet anyway with the kayaking and the swimming so we barely even noticed the rain!Meals were tasty and always arrived at the perfect time. It was a great mixture of seafood and meat so I think everyone was happy. It was served by professional staff, including one in particular, Mr. Lucky, who was very friendly and loved to talk to the guests – we loved talking to him too! Thanks Lucky :)I definitely will recommend this cruise because of the reasons listed above, and also because of Lan Ha Bay, which was incredibly beautiful and apparently much quieter than Halong Bay.
We booked this cruise after hearing about Lan Ha Bay, a much quieter but basically identical version of Halong Bay. We found this to be 100% true, and we barely noticed any other boats in the water. This makes the kayaking, swimming, cave visits, island visits, cycling, tai chi and squid fishing more magical, for sure. There is still lots of time to spend on the sundeck or in the cabin for relaxing, and that’s exactly what we did! The food was phenomenal, I eagerly awaited each meal, but I’d say that there could possibly be a bit more choice during the breakfast and lunch buffets. Oh, and more choice of beer please! The cabin was very, very comfortable and the bathroom was so luxurious. I thought the staff were really good, always willing to talk to you and very good at remembering our names. Well done everyone!
This cruise was far beyond our expectations. I thought it would be a bit of a scramble to get everything done, considering we only booked on for 2 days and 1 night, but it was nothing like that, we had a lot of time to relax. I liked the size of the rooms and the window, which basically takes up a whole wall. The beds are so, so comfortable and the bathrooms feel like some kind of luxurious garden. And wow, what an incredible selection of food! Incredible cuisine for dinner and lunch, but I can’t really talk about breakfast seeing as I was still asleep. The staff were very nice but I felt sorry for them a lot of the time. Being a brand new cruise, it seemed like they had been given a lot of training very quickly and were still piecing it all together. The levels of English aren’t fantastic except for the tour guide, and there are other decent examples, but not great overall. Also, Lan Ha Bay seems to have the same problem as Halong Bay in its plastic pollution. There’s a lot of it in the bay and, while I know this is not Perla Dawn’s fault, I feel like this will only increase as the bay gets more cruise ships. Very sad but easily fixable.Overall though, we had a great time with Perla Dawn, I’d certainly recommend it to anyone!
