We chose the V’Spirit for our honeymoon cruise and most certainly were not let down. Thankfully we had Mr. Man as our tour guide, very fun and very informative about the itinerary and the bay in general. The cabin was very comfortable and came with a balcony. There was a honeymoon theme which was very welcomed by us. We had some great meals and the staff were always happy to swap some food if anyone didn’t like the sound of it. We got a bottle of red wine to celebrate our honeymoon and took advantage of the Happy Hour as well.Great staff. Very helpful, always happy to answer requests. They even brought a cake out for us, which we got to share out with the other guests, which was a great conversation starter!Halong Bay in general is breathtaking. The view from Titop Island was my favourite.Overall, a really good cruise. Thanks V’Spirit and everyone involved!

Great organisation on this trip by the informative and very warm guides. Even the driver was very cal and safe, which is not what we’re used to in Vietnam now! All of the crew were so passionate about their guests having the best time, it was clear to see and it was really heartwarming. We saw the main sites of the cave (which was amazing), some of the rocks close up via kayak and a fishing village. The onboard meals were something else – really nice considering we were out at sea. Muy wife is a vegetarian and she got her own meals that came out at the same time as mine At the end, we had kayaking or rowing on a bamboo boat. It was a lot to fit in but we still found time to relax on the boat. Really well done guys - highly recommended by me!
We read a lot of reviews before deciding on V’Spirit, and we’re very glad that we did!The highlight of our trip was our lovely guide, Tan, who had a clear passion for tourism and for caring for her guests. She was so lovely throughout the cruise and deserves all the nice words we read about her beforehand! The views were unbelievable, but they were maybe even eclipsed by the food. What a great job done by the chef, who catered for me separately despite being the only vegetarian on board. We spent most of the night on the sundeck, drinking, chatting and laughing with other guests; it was a really great experience. Thanks, Tan, all the crew and V’Spirit!
Had a wonderful trip. The boat didn’t look that much from the outside, but inside was much nicer, including our fantastic cabin. We found a stain in our cabin but saw them changing everything for the next group of guests, so we can attest that they do clean the ship.Great food but not much for snack options throughout the day. The drinks were a bit more pricey than in Hanoi, which is to be expected. The happy hour is buy 2 get 1 free, which is a little confusing as most of the guests are couples and have no need for a third drink. We headed to the Surprise Cave, which was great, along with the kayaking that we did outside. We saw other reports that Halong Bay is strewn with rubbish and unfortunately, we found that largely to be true. We suggest companies reward kayakers who bring back rubbish with beers, it would be a great and fun way to clean the bay. There’s not a great amount of activities for after dark, other than squid fishing off the boat, but the weather wasn’t really cooperating, so we watched movies insteadWe had a great time considering the weather difficulties

We were so lucky to get Dan as our tour guide, what a guy!! The whole crew is outstanding to be honest, they did all their jobs incredibly well and had a great level of service throughout! There was some seriously tasty food going on. I had read a review before booking that stated there wasn’t any vegan options, but I didn’t find that at all. My husband is lactose intolerant and I am a vegetarian, so to provide us with two alternative meals, both at the same time, was just outstanding! Every member of the crew was on top of their game and we have nothing but the highest praise for them!. The only thing I was worried about was the amount of plastic in the bay. Obviously I am not blaming V’Spirit for this, but it does hamper the breezy atmosphere on board. Still, an amazing cruise and I will be recommending it for a long time!
We were picked up promptly from our guesthouse in Hanoi and taken around the city to pick up other guests. Our trip was over Tet so there was basically no traffic on the roads. We arrived and found the beds to be very comfortable and the cabins to be spacious. Our guide’s English was fluent, which made everything a lot easier. We had a couple of stops at Thien Cung Cave and Titop Island, both of which were fun and entertaining. We had great views of the bay the entire time that we were there, either from our cabin, the reastaurant or the sundeck, which is where we had the tai chi class in the morning. We finished the day by making spring rolls during the cooking class. Great from start to finish.
Just got back from the 2 day, 1 night cruise with V’Spirit. It started well when we met Peter and Tom, our wonderful guides. They gave us loads of information about Halong Bay, Hanoi and Vietnam in general on the ride over. They were both very funny dudes and they even had my elderly parents in stitches! They made sure that the pace of the cruise was okay for my parents, and kept checking back on them throughout the two days – great service by two people who clearly care for their passengers a great deal. We sat out of a few of the activities because they would have been a bit to strenuous for my parents, but the whole crew made sure we were comfortable on the cruise. Go to Halong Bay, definitely, and go with V’Spirit if you can. Ask for Peter and Tom and if you get them, you’re in for a real treat!
An absolute essential on a visit to Vietnam. We saw so much gorgeous scenery and had a brilliant boat from which to take it all in. We got out into it in our kayaks and by swimming, which were both very fun. Try to spend more than one night if you can, then I guess the activities won’t feel as rushed as they did with us. Lots of food with lots of taste. Great crew who run a clean ship and are very friendly with guests. Mr. Manh was our tour guide and he was the whole package – friendly, informative, knowledgeable and hilarious. I loved the efforts put in by the staff and the whole company to ensure we had a great time in Halong Bay – which we absolutely did.
We definitely chose the right package on this one. We had Jimmy as our host: his English was fantastic and he had a relentless spirit in everything he did, which was very infectious! We weren’t expecting much from the food as we are two vegetarians, but Jimmy ensured that, not only was there no meat in the dish, but we had an entirely different dish altogether – a completely vegetarian one that tasted amazing. Great work, chef!Pick-up and drop-off were simple and on time. The cabins are spacious and feature a little sitting area outside, which was all we needed to see the beautiful rocks going by. The mattress was maybe a little solid for us, but it didn’t detract from the great sleep that we had. Our fun activities were: caving, kayaking, cooking and cruising, all of which we managed in the 2 days,Unbelievable stuff in an unbelievable place. Head out with V’Spirit and ask when Jimmy is working!
So good! Cabins had a bit of a rustic feel; they were comfortable and the addition of a bathroom was brilliant. Super fresh food for all the meals, which was always delicious. My favourite part was the kayaking and being able to get up close to the rocks around us. We chilled in a tranquil area for the night, away from all the party boats, which meant we were super isolated and had a chance to chat with other groups of people on the boat over a few drinks. Our tour guide was called ‘Happy’ Hoang and you could see why; the smile never left his face! Such a great dude to hang out with and he gave us a lot of tips for the rest of our travels in Vietnam, which we ended up following and had an amazing time doing so, thanks so much Hoang! The caves were awesome and I was very happy to have the beach time for relaxing.Just two things: I think the bus could do with some air-con and it should not stop at the same place on the way there and back. I know the company probably has a deal with the shop we go to, but it would be nice for something different on the way back.Stunning cruise overall though, take nothing away from the efforts of Happy Hoang and his happy crew! Thank you so much guys!
Dan the Man, our brilliant tour guide, completely made this trip for us. He was both hilarious and very professional. He noticed that two of the girls we were with didn’t seem to be eating much, and found out that they didn’t like seafood, but hadn’t mentioned it earlier. Dan made sure that every single meal had non-seafood alternatives for them from then on: you can’t put a price on that level of service! He also had guests cracking up constantly with his jokes and anecdotes; he was just a great guy to be around! I have to mention Jimmy and Mike as well, who were also great guides in their own right. The V’Spirit company helped us to arrange alternative transportation to Ninh Binh as we had already done Hanoi and wanted to move on quickly.A bit of constructive criticism: The food could have been a bit better, and it would have been nice to have more of a chance to relax on the boat, rather than partaking in the barrage of activities. Almost a perfect experience all round. Thank you Dan and the rest of the crew for a great time!
We had such a good time on this tour. We began in the company of Mike, who was hilarious and entertained us throughout our transit. We were met by Ducky, who gave us the low-down on the trip itinerary. He was clear and made everything simple, and you could just tell he was going to be a really nice guy! We loved the food, we loved the room, and we loved that the beer was not as expensive as we thought it would be! You can pay by card if you want, which was very convenient for us as we didn’t want to bring loads of cash with us. All the meals were delicious and it was nice to speak to people from all over the world while we were eating. We boarded the day boat on the second day, which, again, surpassed our expectations. We saw monkeys around the cave while we were visiting, and then some more while we kayaked around! I don’t think the day boat belonged to V’Spirit, but it was a significant part of their tour, so I have to mention it.We had another change of tour guide once we got back to the V’Spirit main boat. This one was Rose, and she was just lovely. She welcomed us back and introduced us to the new guests, which was a great way to get us off to a good start! We had another gorgeous dinner and were provided with a puzzle, which we solved the fastest and had a blast while doing so! We didn’t catch a peep in the squid fishing, but it was good fun all the same. After a highly-comfortable sleep, we had a wonderful breakfast, then got back into the kayaks and went back to the same place we went to yesterday – no matter, it had a different atmosphere in the morning. We had a final cooking class and lunch before jumping off the boat at the harbour. Wonderful, wonderful trip overall. I’m happy that we met all the people we did; all of the staff and other passengers across the 3 days, truly an uplifting experience!
