Activities: Land in Ho Chi Minh City airport and check into your hotel.
Meet our driver after your arrival to Tan Son Nhat international airport. They will transfer you the short distance to the centre of the city, where we will find your hotel. Check in from any time after 14:00 and enjoy some free time the old capital of the Republic of Vietnam.
You can this time around some of Ho Chi Minh City’s top attractions, such as the French colonial buildings like Notre Dame Cathedral, the adjacent Saigon Central Post Office and the Ho Chi Minh City Hall near the Saigon River.
There are no meals included on the first day. Please make your own arrangements for your meals and stay overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.
Activities: Transfer to My Tho and take a boat ride along the Bao Dinh canal and the Mekong River, stopping at different islands along the way.
In the morning
After breakfast, the driver will arrive at your hotel lobby between 08:00 and 08:30 and take you to the meeting point with other tourists. Here, we begin the spectacular Mekong Delta day tour by driving to My Tho, one of the region’s largest cities.
From My Tho, we head into the Bao Dinh canal on a small boat. We check out the views of My Tho pressed up against the river, with incredible stilt houses supporting life in one of the biggest cities in the Mekong Delta. We pull up to My Tho Market and take a look around for exotic fruit and other specialties of the region, before climbing back into the boat and cruising over to Tortoise Island. Here we can have a closer look at some of the tropical scenery prevalent throughout the Mekong Delta, as well as have a delicious lunch in luxuriant surrounds.
In the afternoon
We cross the mighty Mekong River and end in Ben Tre province, where we find the Tan Thach canal. We enter the canal and soak up the magical atmosphere it contains, with luxuriant nature on either side in the form of towering nipa palm and swaying coconut trees. We head to Thoi Son Island shorty after this, where we can partake in a quick farming experience and examine the nipa palm closely on a short trek. We return to My Tho by boat after this, where we will board the car or bus and head back to Ho Chi Minh City.

Activities: Transfer to the Cu Chi Tunnels and learn of their history on a half-day tour, before returning to Ho Chi Minh City for free time.
Take breakfast at the hotel and take the transfer, once the driver arrives at 08:00, to the group meeting point. The Cu Chi Tunnels is our destination, located about 50km northwest of Ho Chi Minh City. This snaking web of tunnels was crucial to the communist victory in Vietnam, stretching for 250km under the jungle floor and providing the Viet Cong with a base to spring their attacks around the region.
Once we arrive, a video will explain the role of the tunnels and how they were defended so well for so long. After this, we head inside the tunnels for a look into how life operated down there, through all of the various rooms such as storages for weapons, medical rooms for soldiers and meeting rooms for generals. We finish the tour on the jungle floor, looking at some of the booby traps and the scars of war left behind after Saigon’s toppling in 1975.
Head back to the city after this and enjoy your free time. This would be a great time to visit the Independence Palace and War Remnants Museum to further your understanding about the war and Ho Chi Minh City’s troubled past.

Breakfast is served at the hotel and you will have a chance to soak up the last of Ho Chi Minh City before your flight. Our driver will arrive to your hotel to provide you with the transfer to the airport, where you will fly to your onward destination.
