08.00: Pick-up from the Hotel by Genesis Cruise Halong Bay bus and guide.
Meet our English-speaking guide in the lobby of your hotel. Please be ready to depart between 08:00 and 08:30, as we do not wish to keep other passengers waiting.
Once all the passengers are on board the bus, we will set off along the highway en route to Tuan Chau Harbour. Admire the views of rice paddies by the roadside and mountains in the distance as we drive.
10.50 - 11.15: Visiting a Pearl Workshop
We have the chance to visit a pearl harvesting workshop before boarding the cruise. This will be a short but fascinating look at one of the most precious of exports in the Halong region.
11.45: Boarding the Cruise
We arrive at the harbour shortly after this and take our welcome drink aboard the Genesis Day Cruise. Explore your surroundings and meet the crew before the cruise manager gives their briefing in the restaurant.
12.40: Having Lunch and Relaxing on Board
Remain seated in the restaurant for your fabulous lunch, served as a set menu meal bursting with local flavours. The Genesis Day Cruise will begin its route, snaking between limestone karsts and gliding across the shadows of their forested peaks.
After lunch, you are free to enjoy this magnificent sight at your leisure, which is best done from the sundeck or through your large cabin windows. Admire the serenity on offer in Halong Bay and marvel at its immense natural beauty.
14.00: Kayaking or Riding in a Sampan Boat
We arrive at Luon Cave in the early afternoon and take some time to explore by kayak. This is a great option for getting close to some of the bay’s rocky beauty, which is especially apparent in this magnificent wet cave. Alternatively, passengers can opt to take a ride on a wooden sampan boat, the centuries-old method of transportation for the locals.
15.00: Exploring Sung Sot Cave
Head up a rock staircase to Sung Sot Cave, translating to the Surprising Cave in English. This is Halong's biggest and most impressive cave, with multiple chambers and a gallery of natural rock sculptures to be admired within. Our guide will explain the formation of the cave as well as many of the local legends that are attached to its stalactites and stalagmites. These take on various unique shapes throughout the cave, so keep your eyes peeled for some of its more elaborate formations.
16.15: Watching Sunset with an Afternoon Tea Break
Take a break from the activity in the late afternoon, when we re-board the Genesis Day Cruise and begin our journey back to the harbor. An afternoon tea break of hot beverages, fruits and other snacks will be served as the stunning sunset drops below the horizon.
17.15: Returning to Hanoi
We reach the harbor and disembark from the cruise. The staff will wave you off as you climb into the bus, ready for the smooth return trip to Hanoi.
We will arrive back in Hanoi between 19.30 - 20.00. The bus will drop you off at your hotel and your time with us will come to an end.

Halong Bay Genesis tour was excellent. The bus to and from the bay was luxury and very comfortable with expressway. The cruise was a small group tour with more than 20 persons. Our guide did a good job with good English. The food on boat was excellent accommodating a vegetarian diet. The trip was interesting and we felt it was well organized with right time for each stop – not too long and not too short. Thank you Mr. Ben – our excellent guide and thank you Genesis cruise for a great trip. I really recommend this day tour to anyone going to Halong Bay, Vietnam.

We had wonderful trip with Genesis Cruise and fabulous day with our guide – Mr. Ben. He spoke fluently English and he was so humorous. All the people on bus was very happy with him. The weather was not so nice as it was foggy this period of the year but we still had a great day. The food and drinks were so good and not expensive and we also had a Happy Hour before we disembark. The food included in the trip so you do not have to worry it once you book the trip. We love kayaking through the caves. It was easy done and wonderful even for beginners. There was a waslking tour in the cave which was special experience and scenic. The bus picked up and dropped off in different hotels so it make the trip easy. The bus was luxury and comfortable also. We really enjoyed our day trip with Genesis Cruise 1 day. We had great time with Tom – our tour guide. He was excellent. He made all of us very happy. The transfer from Hanoi to Halong and back to Hanoi was very comfortable although we could have done without the stop at the over- priced pearl shop. The transfer only take more than 2 hour for 1 way as it was on the expressway. The weather was foggy but it was still very nice. We had great time on sampan boat through the cave. However, the walking trip in the cave was much spectacular and it was highlight for us. If you visit Halong Bay and do not have time for overnight cruise I really recommend Genesis day cruise with luxury bus.

We choose one day with Genesis cruise because they use the expressway so it only take 2 hours each way instead of 4 hours on the normal road like other cruises and that was a good decision. Tony was our guide and he was a great guide. He spoke English fluently and he was very humorous. We had a great time with guide. We stopped at a pearl workshop where we could see how pearls are extracted. The Genesis Cruise was very nice and the food was delicious. We stayed in the first deck to avoid the bad weather as it was enclosed. We saw a lot of nice islands during the trip and it was beautiful. We had time for kayaking in a nice area and cave tour. One day tour was long enough I think as I did not spend multi days there. The cave tour was very interesting and I really recommend this day cruise to you.

We had a great tour with Genesis Day Cruise. Ben – Our tour guide was great. He was a friendly and charming guide. All the tourists in our group loved him so much because he cracked jokes entire the trip from bus to the cruise. The food on the cruise was very delicious with 5 courses. The afternoon tea break with fruit was great. Going kayaking and seeing monkeys was amazing. If you go kayaking, I recommend to wear shorts or water resistant clothing so you do not get wet. We also visited very large cave. WE love the trip with Genesis very much and recommend anyone going to Halong Bay.
